CVS is in the process of buying up properties in downtown Carrboro across from Weaver Street Market to potentially build a ~24,000 sq foot 2-story building that would house a 24-hr CVS on the 1st floor and CVS storage and office space on the second floor. Plus a very large parking lot. This is obviously of great interest to everyone who lives in Carrboro since it will set the tone for future development in downtown. This corner needs to be developed in a useful way for everyone in the community.

Moving CVS to that corner will not be a good change for Carrboro. CVS wants to be a drive-in-drive-out with cars store so they want lots of parking. It would make the traffic issues on N Greensboro even worse. Also, they would be tearing down the entire block except for one house to turn the block into a giant parking lot. There are much better places for CVS to go in Carrboro. The town could still have a CVS (and the resulting tax revenue) without having to allow an inappropriate rezoning in the historic millhouse neighborhood.
